Another Problem with the Health Care Bill

To add insult to injury, it turns out that the bill will require restaurants with more than 20 locations to provide calorie information on the menu. I've always found this a little bit obnoxious, but it turns out that it's also quite expensive. Apparently it can cost as much as $200,000 dollars to calculate the nutritional information for all the items on a menu. For a restaurant that has 20 locations and does a million dollars in business at each location each year, this represents 1% of their annual revenue, which I can imagine hurts quite a bit. I doubt that any restaurants will be closing over this, but they'll pass along the costs to consumers and hire fewer employees, which is unfortunate in this economy.
